Ford Prodigy is built with light-weight materials and has an aerodynamic design and is based on the Low-Storage-Requirement hybrid powertrain.

Features

The prodigy has two propulsion systems; a 4 cylinder, 1.2 litre, direct injection diesel engine generating 74 ps at little over 4,000 rpm and a 3-phase A/C electric drive system.

The electric system supplies extra power to the gasoline engine as and when needed, such as during acceleration. When the car is slowing down the electrical motor acts as a generator, charging up the batteries. This system is called Regenerative Braking. Prodigy’s revolutionary diesel engine is more efficient than most conventional gas engines.

The starter-alternator, a small high-power electric motor provides up to 47 ps additional power when needed. When the vehicle comes to a sustained stop, the engine stops, saving fuel. The DIATA engine restarts in less than 0.2 seconds when the car is ready to accelerate.

The instrument panel on the dash displays energy flow and battery stats. The panel displays the “ready” status when the engine is shut. The Automated Shift Manual Transmission more efficient than a conventional automatic transmission

The prodigy has sleek aerodynamics, with variable ride height and grille shutters. It also sports 19-inch, five-spoke chrome wheels and tyres set to the very edges.
